Reporting to the A/NZ DSE Chapter Manager India PEC  within Decision Sciences & Engineering, this role will own and be responsible for the data science chapter in India PEC.

As the leader for the Data Science India PEC team, you will be directly managing the work of scientists as well as working alongside other chapters and teams within Decision Sciences & Engineering (DSE) and Technology, across India PEC, Australia and New Zealand. You will have a dotted line into the Data Science A/NZ Chapter lead to ensure there is consistency in the practices that are used to enable A/NZ outcomes.

The Data Scientist is responsible for the delivery of innovative decision science models and attributes that leverage Equifax’s vast data assets. These include decision areas covering the credit lifecycle, geodemographic and marketing attributes, ratings and fraud models, as well as any new areas where data driven decision making can be informed by predictive modelling.

Responsible for project management, defining business and technical requirements, resource planning and analytic solution design and innovation in a big data environment, as well quality control of analytical output.

  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvement and make data-driven recommendations.

What experience you need:  

  • BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master’s Degree strongly preferred

  • Qualified in at least one of the following: Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Finance, Marketing, Risk, Computer Science, Engineering or other numerate field.

  • 7-10 years of experience in a related role, with experience demonstrating leadership capabilities 

  • Proven track record of designing and developing predictive models in real-world applications

  • Strong communicator & presenter, bringing everyone on the journey.

  • Ability to understand client industry issues and business environment to scope and deliver appropriate solutions

  • Strong people management, team leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and budgets

  • Flexibility to effectively manage changing schedules and priorities and to able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex information simply and directly.

  • Experience in most MS Office or Gsuite applications, analysis and visualisation software e.g. Tableau, Python, R, Matlab, Google Cloud or any equivalent platform

  • Proficiency in Python programming notably in the area of Machine learning and Deep learning and visualisation libraries.
