Regulatory Data Science Specialist

Job Description

 We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst/Scientist to join our Regulatory Data Science team. This role combines the development of advanced data science capabilities including machine learning models, forecasts, simulations, optimizations, as well as the ability to develop and maintain data products including dashboards for the Global Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Safety (GRACS) organization. The successful candidate will work closely with our business stakeholders to embed advanced analytics into organizational processes and ultimately drive business decisions through data-driven solutions and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of complex data sources and collaborate on optimal data layers design for reporting and data transformations.

• Develop prototypes from early discovery (static data) to advanced solutions with complex data pipelines.

• Develop and maintain innovative data science solutions, including machine learning models, forecasts, simulations, and optimizations, to support business needs.

• Develop, maintain and apply a variety of visualization techniques, designing the content and appearance of data visuals using tools such as Power BI.

• Identify opportunities to use Generative AI and determine the best implementation approach in collaboration with business stakeholders.

• Build and design algorithms utilizing Generative AI for various use cases

• Effectively communicate insights and results from data analysis to both analytics teams and business stakeholders.

• Regularly collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business value, processes, decision making, and actions taken based on analytics.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant data domains, continuously update knowledge with the latest industry trends and participate in external company consortiums to understand how the industry is using cutting-edge technology.

• Provide mentorship and education for team members interested in Large Language Model (LLM), Generative AI, data literacy, or other advanced analytics concepts to upskill our team and business

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Technology (Information Management, Engineering), Analytics, Scientific or relevant discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience using advanced analytical tools, such as Python, R, and advanced SQL.

• Minimum 2 years of experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI), reporting & analytical principles, and SQL/database design.

• Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets, analyze complex data and drive actionable insights.

• Application of necessary code (Power FX, DAX, VBA, SQL, etc.) to transform and manipulate large data sets.

• Ability to develop new analytical models for advanced technical needs such as machine learning, forecasts, simulations, and optimizations.

• Familiarity with data science and AI tools like Dataiku

• Expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.), SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure, Dataverse, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into technical solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balanced with a creative mindset.

• Passion for learning and exploring the capabilities of new technology and implementing these technologies effectively.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills

• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a global organization.
