Adviser Product & Technology Operations (ProdOps) is an enabling function within abrdn. We create, and continuously improve, the end-to-end environment in which our colleagues deliver value. About the Role
The Head of Performance Insights & Tooling is responsible for developing and implementing scalable tools, automation, and insight capabilities to drive value, optimise performance, and enable data-driven decision-making. You will lead the procurement and integration of toolsets, map data sources, and deliver impactful performance insights that enhance ProdTech effectiveness. Your role will focus on value insights, reporting, and continuous improvement, ensuring that Product Leaders have the insights and tools needed to improve customer outcomes and accelerate value delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a curiosity-driven approach, a passion for self-learning, and a commitment to staying current with industry trends to enhance processes and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Define the vision, prioritise objectives, and execute strategies to deliver actionable insights and integrated tooling solutions.
Data Science & Insights: Utilise data modelling, machine learning, and statistical analysis to produce meaningful performance insights that drive decision-making.
Data Integration & Management: Identify, map, and consolidate data sources to enable unified reporting and analysis.
Reporting & Analytics: Define reporting requirements, build dashboards, and develop both initial and advanced reporting capabilities using Power BI.
Toolset Procurement & Integration: Evaluate, procure, and integrate tools to optimise workflows and support automation.
Technical Proficiency: Use your knowledge of APIs, ETL processes, and cloud platforms to support seamless data and tooling integration.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Engage with cross-functional teams to align reporting and tooling requirements with business goals.
Problem-Solving & Innovation: Evaluate current processes, identify gaps, and propose data-driven solutions for continuous improvement.
Communication & Storytelling with Data: Present complex data insights in a clear and actionable format for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Roadmap Development: Define and communicate a tooling integration roadmap aligned with business priorities and performance goals.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Essential Skills and Experience
Tool Procurement & Integration: Proven track record of evaluating, selecting, and integrating tools to support automation and reporting requirements.
Data Strategy & Reporting Frameworks: Experience in defining data strategies, mapping data sources, and delivering performance dashboards.
Insight Generation & Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights from large datasets to optimise workflows and decision-making.
Technical Implementation: Hands-on experience with APIs, ETL processes, and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, and Python.
Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver outcomes.
Roadmap Development: Skilled in defining and executing integration roadmaps to support evolving reporting and performance measurement needs.
Continuous Improvement: Proven history of embedding data-driven practices and tools to drive ongoing process enhancements and innovation.
