Power BI Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a Power BI Analyst in Cape Town to develop, optimise, and maintain business intelligence solutions. The role involves designing data models, creating insightful dashboards and reports, and providing data-driven recommendations to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of data visualization, analytics, and integration with various data sources.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
• Connect and integrate multiple data sources (Excel, Netsuite ERP, cloud platforms, APIs, etc.) into Power BI
• Develop and optimize DAX calculations and Power Query scripts for efficient data processing
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security while handling sensitive business information
• Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., finance and operations) to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful insights
• Optimize Power BI solutions for performance and scalability
• Automate data refresh processes and ensure timely reporting updates
• Provide training and documentation to end users on Power BI tools and dashboards
• Handle additions to medical and life insurance, including processing employee endorsements (additions, deletions, amendments).
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI and data analytics trends to implement best practices

The ideal candidate fits the below profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field
• Proven experience in Power BI development, data modeling, and dashboard creation
• Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M language)
• Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Netsuite, Zoho People/Payroll) for data integration is a plus
• Proficiency in Exceor Python for advanced analytics is desirable
• 3+ years of experience in Power BI development and data analytics
