About the RoleRedhorse is transforming how the government uses data and technology. As a Data Engineer/Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and pipelines that power our clients' missions. You will work on large-scale (terabyte) datasets, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to deliver innovative solutions within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position offers the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on national security and leverage your expertise to solve complex challenges for government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manipulate data and data flows for existing and new systems.
  • Provide support in data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes.
  • Develop and maintain data mappings and models.
  • Contribute to data analytics, database operations, and system maintenance.
  • Work within a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive data and system documentation.
  • Translate data insights into tools and analytic capabilities informing operational decisions.
  • Apply machine learning methodologies to build predictive models.

Required Experience/Clearance

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Java/J2EE, SQL, Python, and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
  • Experience with GPU processing.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., ElasticSearch, OmniSci).
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph are required.

Desired Experience

  • Experience building and maintaining data flows in NiFi or Pentaho.
  • Experience with C, C++, XML, XQuery, XPath, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with data science frameworks (Keras, TensorFlow, Theano).
  • Experience with search architecture.
  • Familiarity with server operating systems (Windows, Linux), distributed computing, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with database methodologies and source code management (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, RunDeck).
  • Experience with data testing and quality assurance.
