Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Wellness Data Analyst Summer Intern to join our Professional Development and Wellness (PDW) department. This position is a part-time, 24 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. Reporting to the Senior Director of Organizational Culture & Wellness, the Wellness Data Analyst Summer Intern will gather, organize, and analyze program data that supports physicians and staff across MAPMG. You will enhance the capabilities of the PDW Engagement Database by optimizing reporting on organizational metrics that promote engagement, performance, retention, and wellness. You will also collaborate with key team members to advance strategic operational goals and enhance the overall effectiveness of PDW programs.
You can expect to:
- Assist with the collection and organization of data for input into the PDW Engagement Database
- Enhance functionality and reporting capabilities within the PDW Engagement Database to track key organizational metrics such as engagement, retention, performance, satisfaction, and wellness
- Develop and produce reports on physician and staff engagement to support promotional campaigns and ongoing PDW initiatives
- Contribute to program evaluation efforts by analyzing data and survey results to improve PDW programs
- Assist with the analysis of ergonomics program data and collaborate with the Senior Manager of Ergonomics on follow-up assessments and automating data processes
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Organizational Culture and Wellness, and other stakeholders, to identify and support strategic growth opportunities through data-driven insights
What is required:
- Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or a related field; Recent college graduates are ineligible for the internship program
- Must be available to work part-time, 24 hours per week, for a minimum of 12 weeks
- Experience with data analysis, database management, and visualization tools, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently
- Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. regional office as needed
- Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
- Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment; Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
