Data Team Lead

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Team Lead to manage all data and analytics projects within our Banking Vertical. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities to grow and develop a high-performing team, delivering key metrics and insights to executive and operational stakeholders. 

After one year as our Data Team Lead, you will know you were successful if you are able to handle the following confidently and independently.

• Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts/engineers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture. 
• Project Management: Oversee all data and analytics projects within the banking vertical, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights. 
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with executive and operational stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions. 
• Data Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the bank’s goals and objectives. Ensure the strategy maximizes the value of data assets. Partner with our Project Delivery team to coordinate efforts and deliver successful projects. 
• Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives and projects. 
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve data processes, tools, and methodologies. 
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure all data practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Maintain high standards of data integrity and security. 
• Integration Management: Oversee data integrations using APIs and third-party integration tools, ensuring seamless data flow between systems. 

Requirements

What we are looking for...

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in data analytics or data science roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position within the banking or financial services industry. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, PySpark, and Power BI. Strong understanding of data Lakehouse architecture, semantic models, star schema design, and integration methodologies. Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus. 
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels. 
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities. Capability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights. 
• Project Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
