As part of our EY-GDS D&A (Data and Analytics) team, we help our clients solve complex business challenges with the help of data and technology. We dive deep into data to extract the greatest value and discover opportunities in key business and functions like Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing and Auto, Supply Chain, and Finance.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Data Governance Engineer to join our Data Management and Governance team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in performing data profiling and ensuring data quality for our confirmed data layer, which integrates multiple data sources. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough data profiling to understand the structure, content, and relationships within the data.

- Develop and implement data quality rules, metrics, and thresholds to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across the confirmed data layer.

- Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders to identify critical data elements and establish data quality standards.

- Design and execute data quality initiatives, including data cleansing, standardization, and validation processes.

- Monitor data quality performance, report on trends, and provide actionable insights to improve data governance practices.

- Participate in the development and maintenance of a data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards.

- Support the resolution of data quality issues by working with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Assist in the management of metadata, including the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage documentation.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance tools and technologies to enhance data quality and governance capabilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data governance, data quality, or a related area.

- Strong understanding of data profiling techniques and tools.

- Experience with data quality frameworks and best practices.

- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SAS).

- Knowledge of data management standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
