AI, Data and SW Architecture Lead

3.1. Phase 1: Assessment and Design

3.1.1. Assess Current Data & Software Infrastructure:

• Collaborate with the Strategic Advisor, Lead Customs & Trade Facilitation Advisor, and the Product Strategy, Management & Delivery Lead, in addition to the relevant stakeholders in PSW and FBR to assess the current WeBOC database and data infrastructure, including data quality, performance, and security.
• Identify gaps and limitations in the existing software and data infrastructure and make recommendations for improvement.

3.1.2. Design Data & Software Architecture:

• Based on stakeholder requirements, use cases, and industry best practices, design a comprehensive data and software architecture for the new WeBOC system.
• Ensure the architecture is modular, scalable, and can accommodate future growth and evolving needs.
• Incorporated advanced analytics, AI/ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI considerations into the data architecture design.
• Determine hardware requirements for the new architecture.
• Determine any licensing costs of required software tools required for the new architecture.
• Deliverable: A comprehensive data and software architecture design document that outlines the structure, components, and functionalities of the new WeBOC system's data infrastructure.

3.2. Phase 2: Development and Implementation

3.2.1. Develop and Deploy AI/ML Models:

• Develop and deploy machine learning models to enhance the Risk Management System (RMS) and other functionalities of the new WeBOC system.
• Collaborate with the Lead Customs and Trade Facilitation Specialist to ensure the models align with customs regulations and risk management best practices.
• Integrate the AI/ML models into the software architecture and ensure seamless data flow and processing.

3.2.2. Implement Data Architecture:

• Collaborate with the PSW technical team to implement the data architecture and integrate it with the overall software architecture.
• Oversee data migration, data quality assurance, and system testing.
• Provide guidance and support on data governance, data security, and data quality assurance, using frameworks, such as DAMA, TOGAF, etc.
• Deliverable: A fully implemented and operational data architecture for the new WeBOC system, including integrated AI/ML models for enhanced functionalities.

3.3. Phase 3: Optimization and Knowledge Transfer

3.3.1. Optimize Software and Data Architecture:

• Continuously monitor the performance and scalability of the implemented software and data architecture.
• Make necessary adjustments and optimizations to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the WeBOC system.
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and the technical team to improve the data architecture's efficiency and effectiveness.

3.3.2. Knowledge Transfer:

• Provide training and support to the PSW team on the new data architecture and its functionalities.
• Develop documentation, guidelines, and best practices for data governance, data security, and data quality assurance.
• Contribute to the development of user manuals and knowledge transfer resources for PSW staff and other stakeholders.
• Deliverable: An optimized and well-documented software and data architecture for the new WeBOC system, along with comprehensive knowledge transfer resources for PSW staff and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.
• Experience with AI/ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI technologies.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-based data solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
