As a Senior Research Scientist, you’ll be a part of an interdisciplinary, high-performance team responsible for concept and technology development for our medical device portfolio within our Cardiac Rhythm Management & Diagnostics division.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential technologies, processes and products.
- Perform data analysis and algorithm development utilizing biological signals
- Perform concept development research and technology transfer to product development teams
- Plan and execute laboratory, preclinical or clinical research to prove feasibility of concepts.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Trials, Marketing, and R&D
- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Consult and interact with internal customers and external customers (physicians, allied health professionals).
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree in science, mathematics, or engineering plus 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Strong skills in algorithm development and data analytics
- Expertise in analog and digital signal processing
- Experience with machine learning and/or deep learning to create classification/prediction models
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or other programming platforms
- Team player with good communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal
Preferred qualifications:
- Ph.D. in science or engineering
- Degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, neuroscience, or related engineering or science field
- Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, ECG signals, cardiac diseases, cardiovascular physiology, and medical technology
- Knowledge of statistics

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
