Financial Data Modeler and Systems Integrity Manager - FP&C 

Based in Budapest 

Purpose of the position:

• This senior Financial Role will maintain and enhance the accuracy, scalability and integrity of Wizz Air’s complex financial planning models. The role is critical to the timely delivery of reliable financial forecasts and supports strategic decision-making through application of advanced data modelling techniques. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in aviation with experience building financial models in a similar role in industry or in a banking or consulting environment.
• Position would also oversee and optimize the suite of finance systems at Wizz Air. This role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless interactions between systems, improving efficiency, and strengthening financial controls. The ideal candidate will act as the central owner of system integrations, working to minimize risks related to misinterpretation or loss of information across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model Development and Maintenance: Build, maintain and enhance financial models including our rolling monthly forecasts (FCST), Medium-Term Plan (MTP), route profitability and our separate airline (AOC) reporting models.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Deliver complex financial models to support business case analyses and evaluation of strategic initiatives.
• Data Integrity: Ensure model reliability and consistency by implementing robust quality controls.
• Technology Integration: Utilize tools like Power BI, SQL and AI to automate and scale financial reporting processes and data analytics.
• Strategic Insights: Translate complex data into actionable insights and assist with preparation of reports to finance leadership to inform business decisions.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding: of Wizz Air's finance systems, including SAP Ariba, Skymetrics, BTP, MPS/FMPS, NewSkies, TMS, Power BI, and Excel dashboards.
• Act as the owner of system interactions and interfaces, ensuring robust communication and data integrity across platforms. Analyse the financial interactions between these systems to identify potential optimization opportunities. Collaborate with Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to assess the impact of changes to individual systems on downstream processes. 
• Propose and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency, reduce manual workarounds, and strengthen overall financial controls.
• Mitigate risks by addressing gaps in system ownership, ensuring accurate and reliable data flow between platforms.
• Provide guidance and support to all Finance departments in managing and utilizing finance systems effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, data science, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial modelling or data analysis.
• Solid understanding of IFRS Accounting Principles.
• Advanced expertise in Excel is essential.
• Experience of working with Power BI, SAP Analytics, SQL or Python is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work with complex datasets and financial models.
• Solid understanding of financial systems architecture, including ERP systems and ancillary platforms.
• Experience in systems integration, data flow analysis, and process optimization.
• Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks in financial processes.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and other business units to drive improvements.

Reporting Line:

• Reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Controlling.
