About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Data Architect/Principal Data Engineer to join our rapidly growing data engineering team. You will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy, architecting and implementing cutting-edge data solutions for our clients, and mentoring our talented team of engineers. The ideal candidate has a strong cloud background, a passion for data, and a proven track record of delivering successful data projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data solutions on various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into robust data solutions.
- Develop and maintain data architecture standards, best practices, and documentation.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing.
- Contribute to the growth of the data engineering practice by identifying new opportunities and developing innovative solutions.
Requirements
Required Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years in a lead or architect role.
- Proven track record of designing / architecture , building, and deploying complex data solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and Snowflake).
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Technologies Expertise:
- Cloud Platforms: Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and Snowflake. This includes services like S3, EC2, Lambda, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Snowflake's data warehousing capabilities, etc.
- Data Warehousing: Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- ETL/ELT: Expertise in data integration tools and techniques, including building data pipelines using tools like dbt, informatica etc.
- Databases: Experience with various database systems, including relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and cloud-native databases.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python or Java for data processing and automation.
- DevOps: Understanding of DevOps principles and tools for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, etc.
- Good to have: Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.
- Good to have: Data science / predictive analytics experience, especially with forecasting and regression analysis.
