Job Description:

As a Global Trade Data Analyst at Western Digital, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting global trade data to support strategic decision-making and optimize business processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and present data-driven insights that drive efficiencies and enhance our competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze global trade data from various sources, including customs databases, trade publications, and internal systems.
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to global trade activities.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in trade data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and procurement teams to optimize import/export processes, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and threats, and support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical developments that impact global trade, and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve data quality, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices.

Qualifications

Required -

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is a must.
  • MBA/MS in Supply Chain/Trade/Logistics degree is preferred.
  • Proven 2-3 years of work experience as a data analyst or business analyst, with a focus on global trade, supply chain, or logistics.
  • Certification in data analysis, supply chain management, or related fields is a plus.

Skills -

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies, such as SQL, Excel, Tableau/Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment worldwide.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
