Job Description

As a Data Solutions Analyst on Strider’s Data Analytics team, your job is to leverage your expertise in threat intelligence to identify high-value sources of publicly available data, and shepherd resources around their collection, extraction, analysis, and productization. You will also contribute to building cutting edge capabilities on natural language processing, machine learning, large language models, and automation.

Strider is seeking a Data Solutions Analyst with Japanese language fluency, an understanding of economic espionage and statecraft TTPs employed by adversary actors, a deep knowledge of publicly available data (particularly in Japan), and comfort in exploring technical skills required to tackle data management and big-data problems.

What you will do:

  • Forage for high-value data sources in the open web.
  • Work with engineers to extract, transform, and load data sources into product.
  • Track metrics around Strider’s collection and usage of data.
  • Propose and build big-data processes for surfacing insight from large, unstructured datasets.
  • Collaborate with various teams at Strider to ensure that Strider’s data priorities align with client needs and product development.
  • Implement features to localize Strider’s products for the Japanese market.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Advanced level language skill in Japanese (additional fluency in Mandarin Chinese, Russian, or Korean is a major plus).
  • A solid understanding of topics such as threat intelligence, economic statecraft, research security, and supply chain integrity.
  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a field such as International Relations, Political Science, Comparative Politics, or in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Competency in, or eagerness to acquire functional knowledge of Python, SQL, or Elasticsearch.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams across all levels, functions, and time zones.
  • The ability to independently manage deliverables and ruthlessly prioritize your work.
  • A rigorous and disciplined approach towards data quality and accuracy.

Why join this team:

  • Tackle some of Strider’s most impactful problems, working through questions of sourcing, methodology, organization, and client use.
  • Own the process of transforming open-source data into actionable insights and see how your contributions affect both internal and external products.
  • Learn quantitative and technical skills in a dynamic environment with experts in the field.
  • Enjoy a flexible, geo-distributed, hybrid remote work culture that focuses on getting work done, rather than meetings and status updates.
  • Be encouraged to dream big, think outside the box, and build new tools.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation
  • Company Equity Options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Wellness Reimbursement
  • US Holidays (Office Closed)
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Plan
