DevOps Engineer

Location: Subic Bay Freeport Zone,Central Luzon,Philippines

Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployments. You will work closely with developers, security teams, and operations to optimize performance, enhance security, and streamline deployment processes. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), containerization, orchestration, and security best practices.

The pay range for this position, based on the market data, is Php250 -Php 320 per hour (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure & Cloud Management
• Ensure reliable cloud infrastructure and application uptime.
• Optimize cloud resource usage and cost efficiency.
• Manage virtual machines, containerized workloads, and serverless functions.
2. CI/CD & Automation
• Develop and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate software deployment, testing, and integration.
• Enhance workflow automation to streamline development processes.
3. Containerization & Orchestration
• Deploy and manage containerized applications.
• Ensure efficient orchestration of workloads.
• Optimize container performance and security.
4. Security & Compliance
• Implement security best practices and compliance policies.
• Manage authentication, authorization, and access control.
• Secure sensitive data and credentials.
5. Monitoring & Performance Optimization
• Maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems.
• Optimize system performance and database efficiency.
• Ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
6. Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Provide timely incident response and support.
• Facilitate clear communication across teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Strong experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of database management and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with network security best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, VPNs, Firewalls).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with serverless computing (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions).
• Knowledge of WebSocket implementation and async programming.
• Background in machine learning operations (MLOps) and AI deployment.
• Familiarity with log aggregation and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
