We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and dedicated engineer to join the GPU Platform Architecture Team; we are a group that is driving advanced exploration for next generation GPU architectures in iPhone, iPad and Mac products. In this highly visible role, you will be at the center of a chip design effort working with all disciplines, with a critical impact on getting high performance products to millions of customers quickly.

Description


As part of the GPU Platform Architecture team, you will be working with architecture, design and software partners on the definition & tuning of Appleʼs future GPU Power architectures. The role involves the C++ and Python code development and building and maintaining of GPU models targeted at understanding and enhancing the power architecture of Apple’s GPUs. You will collaborate with experienced GPU architects, RTL designers & software teams to assess the feasibility of new hardware and software power features, running experiments and reporting them. This is an opportunity to join Appleʼs world-class GPU team to collaborate, develop and improve GPU modeling and features for power architecture.

Minimum Qualifications


  • BS degree
  • Experience in GPU or CPU architecture and micro-architecture design
  • Software skills and proficiency in C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python or Ruby


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working as part of large cross-functional teams
  • Experience in power modeling, active power management and/or analyzing and optimizing device power
  • Experience with creating adaptive or machine learning based algorithms
  • Interpersonal skills and creativity to help the team solve design challenges
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 20+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel internationally 3-5 times a year
  • Ability to work with complex designs from architecture to production


Pay & Benefits


  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
