Cloud Engineer (GCP / AWS)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Google Workspace.  
 
This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, and a passion for innovation to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient cloud services. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. Service Delivery & Support 

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, GCP, and Google Workspace to meet business and technical requirements. 

  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager for automated, scalable deployments. 

  • Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and security. 
     

2. Technical Expertise 

  • Architect multi-cloud solutions that integrate seamlessly between AWS, GCP, and Google Workspace platforms. 

  • Develop migration strategies and execute transitions for workloads, applications, and services into or between cloud environments. 

  • Licensing and user setup, deployment and migration services across Google Workspace. 

  • Configure and manage network setups, including VPNs, VPCs, and firewalls, to support secure communication across cloud services. 

  • Facilitating architecture reviews, remediation on findings and implementation of managed services 
     

3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, business analysts, and security specialists, to ensure alignment of cloud infrastructure with organizational goals. 

  • Serve as a technical advisor for internal teams and customers, delivering workshops, demos, and training sessions on cloud solutions and best practices. 
     

4. Monitoring & Continuous Improvement 

  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like CloudWatch, Stackdriver, or Datadog to ensure high availability and reliability. 

  • Conduct regular assessments and audits to maintain compliance with industry standards and cloud governance policies. 

  • Stay updated on advancements in AWS, GCP, and Google Workspace technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions. 

  • Adhering to internal Cloud governance requirements Manage AWS billing reconciliation and work with finance teams to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

Educational Qualifications: 

Certifications (Preferred) 

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) 

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect 

  • Relevant Google Workspace Administrator Certifications 

Experience 

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in delivering cloud infrastructure services across AWS and GCP. 

  • Hands-on experience managing and optimizing Google Workspace for business use. 

  • Proven track record in cloud migrations, infrastructure automation, and multi-cloud solutions. 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficient in cloud-native tools and platforms (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, GCP Compute Engine, Cloud Functions). 

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. 

  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines

  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). 

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Certifications 

  • For Workspace Admins: The Google Workspace Administrator certification is essential. 

  • For Cloud Engineers: Start with Associate Cloud Engineer, then specialize with Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Network Engineer. 

 

Google Workspace Certifications 

Google Workspace certifications validate skills in managing Google Workspace solutions for collaboration and productivity. 
 

1. Professional Certifications 

  • Google Workspace Administrator 
    Key Focus: 

  • Managing Google Workspace users and services. 

  • Configuring and securing Google Workspace accounts. 

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting issues. 

  • Google Certified Educator (Level 1 & 2) 
    Target Audience: Educators utilizing Google Workspace in learning environments. 
    Key Focus: 

  • Integration of Google tools like Gmail, Drive, and Meet in education. 

  • Google Workspace Deployment Specialist 
    Key Focus: 

  • Planning and deploying Google Workspace solutions for businesses. 

  • Data migration and provisioning strategies. 

 
 

GCP certifications validate expertise in designing, developing, managing, and administering infrastructure and applications on Google Cloud. 
 

1. Foundational Certification 

  • Google Cloud Digital Leader 
    Target Audience: Business professionals and individuals new to Google Cloud. 
    Key Focus: 

  • Cloud concepts and services. 

  • Use cases for Google Cloud products. 

  • The role of cloud technologies in digital transformation. 

 

2. Associate Certification 

  • Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer 
    Target Audience: Professionals responsible for deploying and managing Google Cloud solutions. 
    Key Focus: 

  • Setting up Google Cloud environments. 

  • Deploying, monitoring, and managing cloud-based applications. 

  • Managing GCP resources using the Console and command-line interface. 

 

3. Professional Certifications 

Designed for advanced professionals with hands-on GCP experience. 

  • Professional Cloud Architect 
    Key Focus: 

  • Designing secure and scalable cloud architectures. 

  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning. 

  • Optimizing technical and business processes on GCP. 

  • Professional Data Engineer 
    Key Focus: 

  • Designing and managing data processing systems. 

  • Ensuring reliability and security in data pipelines. 

  • Utilizing machine learning on GCP. 

  • Professional Cloud Developer 
    Key Focus: 

  • Building, testing, and deploying applications on GCP. 

  • Integration with Google APIs and services. 

  • Professional Cloud Network Engineer 
    Key Focus: 

  • Managing and designing GCP network solutions.
