Software Engineer (Power BI, Front End) - LT

Salary Range - 23,000 to 37,000 EUR  

Position Summary & Objective  

The Power BI Software Engineer partners with the product team to develop software solutions for the business. This role reviews business requirements as well as designs, implements, and unit tests software.  

Essential Functions Performed by the Position  

Finds best way to provide insightful information and analytics using Power BI reports. 

Collaborates and reviews requirements proposed by the Product Owner / Business Analyst to understand, document, estimate, design, implement, and unit test viable software solutions.

Develops solid, scalable information systems that support the continuously evolving needs of clients and internal operational teams. 

Ensures information systems scale and support new features for delivery. 

Collaborates with team lead to ensure accurate collection of information through reporting infrastructure. 

Modifies existing software to fix bugs, adapt to new requirements and improve performance. 

Maintains code quality, tests coverage and codes reviews following standard guidelines. 

Collaborates with and supports the quality assurance team to ensure the timely delivery of quality software. 

Serves as a member of self-organized Scrum teams. Follows Agile practices and actively participates in backlog refinement as well as release and sprint planning activities. 

Designs and implements services and APIs supporting Power BI reporting application and Power BI visuals using microservice architecture for application development or data services. 

Leads, inspires and helps to develop fellow engineers to be a high performing, driven and collaborative team. 

Functions as point of contact for escalations and crucial stakeholder requests.

 

Power BI and UI Engineer  

Proficient understanding of Power BI and web markup, including HTML5, CSS3. 

Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery. 

Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, ReactJS. 

Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX. 

Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus. 

Technical Know How (Preferred - for application development)  

Exposure to working with cloud development (AWS/Azure/GCP). 

Experience developing docker applications. 

Experience developing web-based applications using Angular with strong experience using HTML5, CSS3, object-orientated Typescript/JavaScript and large JavaScript applications. 

Education:  

Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent degree. 

Experience:  

0-2 years of experience working as a software engineer developing commercial software. 

Experience using collaborative tools such as: Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Jira. 

 

Certifications/Licenses:  

Any technical certification preferred. i.e., Cloud, Data.

 

Language Proficiency:  

Fluent in English.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, enterprise-class software on-time and of high quality. 

Knowledgeable in the software development lifecycle. 

Working knowledge of source control systems like Git. 

Experience working in Agile-oriented teams, especially SCRUM or Kanban. 

Possess effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal (for non-English speaking countries). 

Very strong problem-solving skills and algorithm knowledge.
