In this role as a Data Scientist, you will work closely with the principal data scientist and software developers to advance Mondo’s energy market services through a data driven approach.
This will involve communication with both internal and external stakeholders to develop methods of delivering analytical solutions and insights through data science techniques in line with best practice standards.
With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role can be based in Southbank and is part of the Energy Platforms team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Design, implement and validate machine learning and other predictive models to deliver commercial outcomes, with a focus on forecasting in the energy market.
- Create and employ systems related to data ingestion, storage, automation, delivery, and validation.
- Prototype, develop, manage, update, and maintain complex analytical models, processes, frameworks, and tools using MLOps best practices.
- Contribute to reporting, insight generation and data-driven decision making.
- Play a key role in the design and implementation of end-to-end cloud-hosted data solutions.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of how the national energy market functions, including National Electricity Rules (NER) compliance requirements related to Distributed Energy Resource (DER).
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline, e.g., mathematics, data science, computer science, physics, operations research etc. Candidates with a Masters or PhD in a technical field will be highly considered.
- Experience in designing and implementing applied statistical, mathematical, data mining, and machine learning solutions on complex and diverse data sets using a variety of tools e.g. Python, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn etc.
- Designing, testing, and validating complex experiments, scenario modelling, and hypotheses to qualify and validate findings.
- Skilled in working with optimisation or operations research problems.
- Knowledge of working with IoT device data.
- Ability to work with cloud infrastructure, in particular AWS services.
- Demonstrated experience in energy storage and generation technology and the energy market.
- A proactive attitude with a strong attention to detail.
- Proven experience with software development best practices, including version control, CI/CD frameworks, collaborative development approaches. Education Qualifications and Licences
