Often leads one or more departments / teams. As a Manager of Product Management, you'll lead the development of products that ensure a compelling digital experience for our retail Customers or help arm H-E-B Partners company-wide with world-class business applications to thrive in their jobs. Responsible for hiring, firing, and performance / pay reviews. Makes decisions based on business objectives and allocated resources. Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to team. Involved in modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide impact. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. Leads team / department and undertakes coaching and mentoring responsibilities. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the department / team or function.Impact:Assignments are objectives oriented. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting departmental objectives and timelines. Failure to achieve objectives will have short term impact on cost and on department/team success with potential impact on the department.- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. - Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.- Assures adherence to budgets and establishes schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.- Looks beyond existing methodologies to resolve complex issues often cross-functional in nature or with significant impact to the business.- Interacts daily with direct reports, peer leaders, and senior leaders effectively communicating and presenting results and recommendations within their department.Management / Strategy:- Leads a team of product managers to manage the product life cycle of tightly related digital product categories or domains.- Conducts annual reviews; provides feedback to improve performance.- Recruits / interviews / participates in selection of / onboards new hires; trains / provides ongoing education; coaches / mentors / manages product team Partners.- Manages resource allocation, budget, and spending.- Manages activities to drive product development, typically strategically or thematically related.- Assesses current market conditions to define product strategy.- Leads / manages development of product roadmaps; determines product strategy and roadmaps that align with product ecosystem, considering industry trends, vendor marketspace, and organizational priorities.- Crafts project vision; coordinates cross-functional teams of Partners / suppliers.- Communicates complex ideas; anticipates objections; negotiates with / influences internally and externally, including H-E-B senior leaders and global vendors.- Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends best practices for improvement and costs and fees.- Makes data-informed decisions based on sound understanding of organizational priorities, voice of guest, analytics, user testing, benchmarks, industry reporting, and emerging trends.- Refines requirements based on prototyping, hands on testing, and iterative feedback; serves as bridge between customer desires and technical realities.- Drives end-to-end product release, including feature design-development, integrations, data migration, cutover from legacy applications, and stabilization and support.- Proactively manages sprint plans, issues, and decisions; anticipates risks; ensures focus stays on maximizing value within timeline and resource constraints.- Manages company-wide stakeholders to understand / strategize business needs in an end-to-end manner.- Works closely with business stakeholders, users, Product Managers, Design, and Engineering Partners to drive entire technology project lifecycle.- Manages / leads team to demonstrate high velocity, efficiency, and morale; ensures teams consistently meet committed deadlines.- Flexes existing processes to maximize outcomes; identifies critical risks and dependencies; anticipates / resolves critical team issues with little escalation.What is your background?- Bachelor / Masters' degree in a relevant field of education and / or work experience leading successful projects and coaching / mentoring others in functional area. Completion of H-E-B Leadership programs where applicable (i.e., SORL)- 5+ years of experience in product management or technology consulting- Experience supporting retail, supply chain, ecommerce, or digital marketing operations.- Experience leading / managing people or teams (preferred)Do you have what it takes to be an H-E-B Manager of Product Management?Senior management defines / reviews manager objectives to determine success of operation. Has latitude to make decisions in achievement of defined goals.
