We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity. 



 

 

Job Summary

This position will conceptualize development, test enhancements, maintain data, and report on the results within the electric transmission workflows managed within ET Planning Digital Ecosystem. The ecosystem includes the following systems/aspects:

  • The Delivery Point Exchange - Salesforce application for managing all of Transmission Customer Exchanges and documentation and status reporting for transmission delivery points for load connections.
  • Long-term Planning HUB (LTP HUB) - Project feasibility and development tool for all transmission projects to serve customer load.
  • The analyst devises or modifies existing processes to improve company productivity and automate routine tasks and will directly use a broad range of tools to build solutions including Alteryx, PowerQuery, Power Bl, SQL Databases, Snowflake, python, VBA, or other data and programming tools. The analyst may also 
    use data engineering concepts to build data pipelines between key systems to visualization tools like Power Bl.
  • Model on Demand Dominion (MODOM) - The model management database that manages alignment of all annual model builds, modeling all customer connections future, and the present system. The system compares cases to ensure our alignments with PJM.
  • Facility Ratings Database - The modeling platform that adds all assets and their physical rating characteristics to the electric transmission system in support of planning and real-time operations with ratings of all conductors, equipment, and transformers on the bulk electric system.
  • Digital Ratings one-line Development and Management Platform - Digital twining to the modeling in the Facility Ratings Database in support of NERC compliance excellence with ratings reporting to PJM and for alignment with Project Execution.
  • MW/MVAR - Load data management and alignment with models managed and built in MODOM and aligned with data provided by distribution providers in support of customer load requests in the delivery point exchange.

In addition, these user interfaces will need enhancements and alignments with new tools used by Planners and Modelers, and new tools in development by partner teams in Electric Transmission. This position will use business engagement practices and processes to help confirm data and test platforms/workflows and tools to ensure that releases are ready for production with quality assurance after go-live. This position will use our business processes to support the transmission capital project feasibility and project development requirements for planners and modelers to pursue measuring alignment with automation and reporting. Finally, planning and modeling engineers need support writing and/or integrating tools withing workflow UIs related to the use Siemens PSSE, PowerWorld, ETAP, ASPEN, and other industry power flow and modeling software and toolsets required to continue to support production efforts as versions change and needs change with PJM for compliance with FERC and NERC standards as both our load and generation are expected to double in the next 10-15 years.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following: 

Business Technology Analyst I: 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Business Technology Analyst II: 2-+ years of relevant experience.

  • Must have analytical ability to include organization and problem solving techniques; must be gaining proficiency in presentation of information through written and verbal communications; facilitation skills for gathering requirements and business process design related to system change requests; coordinating issue resolutions through direct interaction with clients and application developers; 
  • Experience in building dashboards and automation solutions for internal customers using tools such as: PowerBl, Power Query, Alteryx, Python, VBA, and SQL
  • Ability to perform independently within a team-based environment; project management skills for the development of project plans. 
  • Progressively develop analytical proficiency regarding the functional and technical development of the application software solution, add value to the projects via continued growth in subject matter expert knowledge of the assigned business process areas and their associated application systems. Ability to multi-task in order to support production issues, test production fixes and fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Business Administration, Information Systems
