Job Information

Job Summary:

The Data Analytics summer internship is a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of policy research and to develop research skills. This position will be full-time for approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Data cleaning, data processing, and statistical analysis.
• Writing, formatting, and editing reports and works for dissemination.
• Data entry and literature reviews.
• Administrative tasks.

Competencies:

• Interest in and aptitude for developing advanced programming and analytic skills for working with administrative data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize multiple sources.
• Strong initiative and a resourceful approach to problem-solving and learning are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Sound critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail with superb organization skills.
• Knowledge of the substantive policy area strongly.

Additional Responsibilities

Education, Experience, or Certifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Significant progress toward a degree in a social science discipline (e.g., economics, public policy, statistics, or data analytics) preferred.
• Strong background in mathematics and statistics preferred.

Technical Knowledge or Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.
• Experience with at least one statistical package required (e.g. R, Stata, or Python) with a preference for R.
