Do work that matters

As a Manager AI Democratisation, Data Science Practice, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the AI Democratisation initiatives within the Data Science Practice.

This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of immersive and experiential AI learning programs for practitioners; and driving the adoption of AI across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading and implementing large-scale AI fluency programs and a sound understand of core AI, Machine Learning and Data Science concepts. They are also passionate about democratising AI and making it accessible to all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage AI Democratisation initiatives, including Data Science mentorship programs, training boot camps and other immersive learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, Business Decision Makers and External Vendors, to develop and implement AI initiatives across the Bank.
  • Provide guidance and support to Data Science practitioners and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI Democratisation initiatives, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI and Decision Science, and incorporate them into the Data Science Practice strategies.

The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is responsible for shaping and delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s Data, Advanced Analytics, Data Science and AI capability.

From strategy to execution, you get to do lot with this role. As we move towards a skill led organisation, it is important that we implement and support AI initiatives that meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and the shifting skills and capability landscape for our people. This role works with the Decision Science practice team and chapters to drive execution and embedding of practice initiatives across the group.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Proven experience rolling out large scale AI or Technology fluency programs for technical practitioners.
  • Sound understanding of AI/Machine Learning core concepts, tools and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Passion for democratising AI and making it accessible to all employees.

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these leadership attributes (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM related field.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML core concepts.
  • Experience working in AI initiatives within a large organisation within Data/Analytics/AI consulting with skills in project management, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration is highly regarded.
  • Capable of working independently while also being an effective team player.
  • Experience in data or AI governance roles is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of AI technical landscape and working exposure to key tooling/platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure or H2O.ai)
