Data Science Intern

3-month internship

Desjardins is ready to take data valorization to the next level, making our organization a role model in the industry. By leveraging data fully, we’ll be able to better serve members and clients while increasing our productivity. Among other things, this data can help us manage and optimize operational performance, optimize our marketing efforts, and optimize SEO results through smart agents. As a data science intern, you’ll help transform our data into value-added information that facilitates decision-making within the organization and helps us develop solutions and services that address our needs and challenges. More specifically, you will be required to :

• Take part in exploring, evaluating and developing innovative AI methodologies and products to support data valorization.

• Help innovate and explore in one of our areas of expertise, such as knowledge graphs, generative language models, etc.

• Help monitor new advances in AI and support their adoption by Desjardins Group

• Work alongside data scientists and IT experts on a multidisciplinary squad to design, develop, deploy and monitor machine learning and AI systems

• Help implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for machine learning models

• Develop and maintain application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) that expose analytical models to applications in production

What you bring to the table

• Be a student in a bachelor's or master's degree program in data science and artificial intelligence, in statistics, math, computer science or any other relevant field

• Your educational institution must credit or certify your internship toward a degree in an appropriate discipline.

• Knowledge of French is required   

• Knowledge of machine learning, unstructured data analysis, natural language processing (NLP) and use of large language models (LLM)

• Knowledge of Python

• Knowledge of data science and artificial intelligence concepts

• Knowledge of database management systems and cloud infrastructure
