(IND) Senior Manager, Software Engineering

What you'll do...

About Team:

LMD stands for Last Mile Delivery which is Walmart’s platform Spark Program and responsible store for customer delivery with the help of mainly Spark Drivers. It provides a one-stop solution to help Walmart expand its last mile delivery network by connecting Walmart Stores to most of the US population.

Last Mile has been made available as a Service for external clients (outside of Walmart Network). This team owns and supports a complex system which is responsible for delivering more than million orders and providing best of experience to our customer, drivers and operations. It’s built upon some latest tech stack and multiple experiences powered by ML models.

What you will do:

• Hire, Develop and Retain a strong team of software engineers for GIF's newest expansion MFC

• You will work in our own internal open stack cloud, Azure, using several technologies including but not limited to JAVA, Spring, Kafka, Azure SQL DB, REST APIs, Python, Node JS, Golang etc.

• Help define Roadmap and own the entire delivery end to end

• Work very closely with different product and business stakeholders at various locations in US and India to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies

• Support business objectives by collaborating with business partners to define priorities, identify opportunities and drive resolutions

• Independently own and address and resolve applications issues, provide updates and drive root cause analysis including identifying issue patterns and working with Engg teams to address them

• Responsible for coming up with processes to improve developer productivity, incident support metrics like backlog, MTTR, INC SLAs etc

• Plan, execute and implement applications and configuration change procedures

• Drive Engineering and Operational Excellence for owned services

• Conceptualize the idea for process improvements and/or automation frameworks that will make for more effective Support engagement

• Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering, support and management teams across different geographic locations

• Gain and maintain expertise in flow of application process and systems related to domain

• Flexibility - responsibilities may require occasional evening and weekend work

• demonstrating deep passion and curiosity for technology

What you will bring:

• An Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS in any stream – Computer Science preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant experience, Minimum of 7 years of experience with agile principles and practices. Experience in leading Scrum teams.

• Hands on experience in managing operations teams for scalable cloud native software platforms/applications

• Very strong understanding and experience in the area of software development lifecycle.

• Strong Java/J2EE, Spring skills.

• Working knowledge in a Cloud based service.

• Strong understanding of CS Fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms and Problem Solving

• Ability to code/Script in one of the languages (C#, Python and Java) and working knowledge of SQL and Databases is must

• Worked on monitoring (Dynatrace/Appdynamics) and alerting tools (Xmatters/PagerDuty)

• Mentoring team on technology and process for automation need

Technical Skills

• Core Skills : JAVA,J2EE, Scripting (Shell/Python) - Any one preferable

• DataBase: SQL Database - Must have

• Messaging and communication: Kafka/RESTful - Basic debugging knowledge

• App monitoring tools: Splunk, Dynatrace/Appdynamics - Strong debugging knowledge

• Cloud Technologies: MS Azure, GCP and Open Stack - Basic debugging knowledge
