Principal Data Engineer

To drive PA as a data-driven organisation where everyone can transform data into intelligence. You would support the design and development of data products so as to support PA's planning and operations.

• Engage stakeholders, develop and implement data products (e.g. dashboards/charts, data listing and analytical solutions) to support PA planning and operations.
• Design and develop data products by leveraging tools for data analytics (e.g. Python, R), visualisation (e.g. Tableau/Qlikview) and mapping (e.g. GIS) and by drawing datasets from central database.
• Assist business users on the use of data products and guide them in the relevant concepts and skillsets.
• Collaborate closely with business users and other data officers to identify relevant data that can help to achieve PA goals, such as analysis to inform policy making and operation, and support process streamlining.
• Develop and deploy analytics programs, machine learning, and statistical methods, eg processing unstructured data collected for automated decision-making.
• Assist on data engineering work proceeses which includes:
  - Automation of processes for the data access and data refresh.
  - Design and build of systems for the efficient collecting, storing, and analysing data at large scale.
• Assist to drive PA data competencies development to achieve a data-driven culture, via workshops and co-development of data products, which includes:
  - Guide users in the application of data products and the progressive leveling up of competencies.
  - Align PA to overall Government, e.g., GovTech prescribed data competencies.
