Assoc Data Engineer

Capgemini is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assoc Data Engineer for a top 10 US Insurance Carrier.

Our Client is one of the United States’ largest insurers, providing a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premium well over US$25 Billion (P&C). They proudly serve more than 10 million U.S. households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 18,500 employees. Finally, our Client is part of one the largest Insurance Groups in the world.

Role Description:

The team member would assist in the full-stack development of our tools. Ideally, they would be proficient in the primary technologies used by our in-house tools, namely Node.js for the back-end application logic, Angular for the front-end app logic, SQL queries and procedures (both JavaScript and Python based), and Python for things such as creating the scheduling scripts and for other miscellaneous tasks. The ability to validate data and calculations is also essential.

Required Branch(es) of study: Computer Science or Software Engineering or related Technical

Additional Preferred Branch(es) of Study - Statistics or Mathematics or Data Science

Data Analytics Core Tools: Understands how to effectively use core tools for Data Analytics including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Python and SQL.

Data Mining and Engineering: Applies knowledge of data mining practices, tools and technologies to find patterns in the data, converting raw data into useful and actionable information centered around consistent and conformed standards and expectations of the business. Designs and builds systems, applications or other utilities for collecting, storing, converting/transforming, reporting and analyzing data at scale.

Data Visualization and Reporting: Understands and applies knowledge of various visual aids that can be used to articulate or convey observations regarding the data. Uses the appropriate tools and techniques to condense and encapsulate the characteristics of data, making it easier to reveal and discover opportunities, identify risks, analyze trends, communicate a recommendation and drive effective decision-making.
