We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Embodied Interactive Artifical Intelligence & Robot Learning, in the context of Intelligent Human-Machine/Vehicle Interaction and Collaboration. The work will be carried out at  RoboTac Lab, Technology Group of BMW Center of Invention, Munich, Germany.  
The RoboTac Lab is the leader in cutting-edge robotics and intelligent systems. Our mission is to advance the integration of multi-modal interactiv perception and learning technologies in robotics to improve human-machine collaboration and mobility solutions.

 

What awaits you?

  • Contributing to the deveopment of next generation of the intelligent interactive vehicle.
  • Developing and testing neuromorphic perception systems for multimodal inputs (e.g., vision, auditory, tactile).
  • Designing learning algorithms inspired by biological systems to improve robotic and vehicular autonomy.
  • Conducting experiments and simulations to evaluate human-vehicle interaction models.
  • Collaborating with experts in AI, Robotics, and Cognitive Sciences.

 

What should you bring along? 

  • University Master degree in electrical /electronic / control engineering, computer science or a comparable course of study or a comparable qualification.
  • Knowledge of event-driven sensors & spiking neural networks.
  • Familiarity with neuromorphic computing concepts and tools.
  • Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics platforms (e.g., ROS) human-computer interaction projects.
  • Exposure to hardware accelerators for AI applications (e.g., GPUs, TPUs, or neuromorphic chips).
