Head of Data Quality

About the role:

Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for a Head of Data Quality, to build a foundation for data-driven decision-making, based on accurate, consistent, and reliable data assets. Leading the Data Quality team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our digital future by establishing and maintaining data quality standards, policies, and practices across Barry Callebaut.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and lead the Data Quality team at Barry Callebaut, directly reporting to the VP of Data Management.
• Develop and execute a roadmap for the build-up of data quality capabilities.
• Lead the implementation of the Data Quality system.
• Lead a team of business analysts and data engineers to build up data quality capabilities, enabling our business to make data-based decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders of our business and other data teams to understand the requirements for data quality and derive data quality standards, measures, and initiatives to ensure high data quality.
• Collaborate in projects to increase data quality across our data domains.
• Steer projects to implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure high data quality.
• Prioritize data quality initiatives based on business value and steer the implementation of new technologies.
• Work with external partners to implement MDM Quality systems as well as support all quality initiatives that cannot be fulfilled by an internal team.
• This is a global leadership role with key stakeholders located in Brussels, Zurich, and other locations of our global footprint, and thus requires up to 25% travel.

About you:

• Graduate degree in IT/technology, data, computer science, engineering, business administration, or a comparable field.
• Proficiency in English.
• Deep understanding of roles, processes, and technologies around data management and data quality incl. related trends, and best practices.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including the management of multi-cultural, dispersed teams.
• Experienced in building up state-of-the-art data quality capabilities, including quality standards, measures, and validation mechanisms.
• Experienced in implementing Data Quality platforms.
• The ability to bring people together and mobilize individuals to pursue a joint agenda.
• Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams & driving change in a collaborative way on a global scale.
• Independent and self-driven personality.
• Skills to create internal and external partnerships/networks across the organization.
