HOW YOU’LL HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Cloud Solutions Architect for Data and AI is responsible for leading the design and creation of a data and AI technology architecture framework and providing technical leadership in support of the organization’s initiatives in AI services and data management by leveraging cloud services, data infrastructure, data analytics, machine learning, AI modeling and emerging data technologies. This Cloud Solutions Architect ensures public and private information and solutions are architected and designed for optimal cost, functionality, efficiency, accessibility, scalability, reliability and resiliency. Responsibilities include the design, implementation and delivery of the organization’s technology, data and AI strategies along with the introduction of emerging technologies, storage, ingestion, processing, management and utilization of cloud, data, and AI services. Architect will work with development teams, affiliates, business owners and other stakeholders to provide architecture leadership and best practices that drive and enable the migration, governance and management of the organization’s data, analytics, predictive modeling and decision-making capabilities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field.
· 7 years of direct work experience performing, or closely related, to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network and storage management, software application solution architecture, design or development, middleware, database management and/or operations.
· 3 years of experience with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
· Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers and emerging computing trends.
· Ability to interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee and/or supplier resources.
· Knowledge and Understanding of Cloud Native Development such as:
o Micro Services architecture.
o Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker etc.).
o Automation Framework and Tools (RPA, Low Code etc.).
· Relevant Design and Development experience.
o Creating Architecture/Design documents (HLD/LLD) with models, system diagrams.
· Hands-on Experience with Azure Cloud platform implementation.
· Excellent listening skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a wide variety of audiences.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Cloud Data and AI Architecture Design and Development:
o Manage the development and implementation of technology, data and AI strategies.
o Define cloud standards, DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tool chain and Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
o Define, implement, and enforce the cloud standard operating environment, cloud standards, and associated tools/platforms/frameworks for the organization’s application portfolio, in coordination with IT-wide efforts and Technology Architecture and Planning.
o Drive Proof-of-Concepts and implementation, with hands-on involvement as SME, for new SOE items: build deployment automation pipelines, build automated next gen CI/CD pipelines partnering with development teams, build and integrate new technologies like containers enabling multi-cloud and preventing cloud provider lock-in.
o Define and enforce Cloud architecture best practices: availability; redundancy schemes, performance, Disaster Recovery, DB, and Interfacing Systems, etc.
o Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the organization’s application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud.
o Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
o Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
o Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications and that are appropriate for business and technology strategies.
· Project Support:
o Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
o Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
o Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with Business and Application Development to size and manage scope and risk as well as regularly communicate project health and identifies risks to project and program stakeholders, sponsors and management.
o Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operation.
o Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for the organizations cloud end-to-end architecture, including SAP, Azure platforms etc. networking, provisioning, and management.
· Thought Leadership:
o Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members and leaders across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
o Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
o Proactively Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE?
· At least one professional certification in specific job-related disciplines.
· Understanding and/or experience in working within the utility industry.
· Experience working in large public or private-sector organizations.
· Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) experience.
· Demonstrated knowledge of utility industry operations and business processes.
· Ability to assess emerging business & regulatory changes and articulate how these can positively impact the company.
· Knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems as well as knowledge of key business applications, functions, and processes.

· IT Architects, IT Strategic Planning, Development Staff and Support of various business application towers, Project Management Office, Other IT and Business Stakeholders etc.
· Consultants (System Integrators, Offshore Teams), Contractors, Customers, Vendors.
· Direct Supervision: No direct reports.
· Indirect Supervision: Responsible for resource management, staff augmentation, and vendor relationships and ensures adequate support for all assigned work activities. Development of staff. May serve as a backup to management.

STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS
TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our TECO Energy customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
