Position Overview:

The Data Engineer plays a central role in the design, development, management of data pipelines, data lakes and analytics solutions for Canada Goose’s global users. You will work cross functionally with business intelligence, product, and engineering teams to build scalable infrastructure and data solutions. The role will leverage Microsoft Fabric’s unified OneLake (Lakehouse) platform to design, develop and maintain the enterprise data warehouse for Canada Goose. You will focus on automation and optimization for all areas of OneLake for ELT code maintenance and deployment.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build pipelines and workflows to ingest data from source systems (including on-premises and cloud systems) using Azure Data Factory into Azure Data Lake. Enable real-time and batch analytics by integrating data pipelines with downstream systems.
  • Leverage PySpark, TSQL and Power Query to transform and process large datasets, implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to convert and clean raw data into meaningful datasets, manage and curate data for stakeholders’ consumption to address the reporting needs of the business.
  • Design, develop and deploy data pipelines and artifacts for the Bronze, Silver and Gold layers in the Fabric Medallion data architecture.
  • Create and manage semantic layers in Microsoft Fabric, collaborate with data and analytics teams, business stakeholders to build Power BI models and dashboards, ensuring accessible, high-quality datasets for reporting, analytics and machine learning projects.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data workflows, apply partitioning, caching, indexing and other techniques to improve query efficiency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data quality, latency and processing pipelines issues. Provide timely support for production issues as directed by team leads.
  • Create and maintain data flow and architecture diagrams. Ensure all data solutions are adhering to recommended best practices and standards.

Let's Talk About You:

  • At least 2+ years experience as a Cloud Data Engineer, BI Analyst or in a similar role
  • Experienced Azure Data engineer with proven expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL DB, Azure Synapse, Azure Blob Storage and Azure Data Lake involving data ingestion and transformation solutions.
  • In depth understanding of Azure cloud, Data Lake (OneLake) and Analytics solutions on Azure.
  • Very strong and clear in ETL/ELT concept, good understanding of cloud analytics and data management.
  • Strong Professional Experience with TSQL, experience doing complex queries and transformations on large data set.
  • Good experience in PySpark, Python.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Experience working with Star Schema and Kimball Methodologies.
  • Experience with D365 F&O, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud is a plus.
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications Preferred. Knowledge and Certifications in Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
