Execution Services Global Data Lead, Director

Team/Role Overview:

Citi is recruiting an Execution Services Global Data Lead to deliver the business’ data strategy for the Agency Securities Lending, Collateral Management and Custodial FX product suite that makes up the Citi Execution Services franchise.

As part of the Product Management team the Execution Services Global Data Lead will have broad responsibilities covering four key data strategy pillars: Product Data Governance, Data Science, Data Commercialisation and AI/ML integration.
 
What you'll do:

• Work with Execution Services Data Sponsors (Product), Data Stewards (Technology) and Data Owners (Operations) to establish the Data function for Execution Services.

• In collaboration with Data Sponsors, refine the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for each of the strategic data pillars and manage a team of Data Specialists, supporting them, to design and deliver solutions aligned to strategic OKRs.

• Define the target state data architecture and track progression to this.

• Implement new analytics by overseeing the rapid prototyping, development and deployment of models, analytics-libraries and dashboards to support Product Management and the Securities Lending Trading Desk.

• Work with the Data and Client Platform team to integrate Execution Services into enterprise AI/ML/NLP initiatives and leverage enterprise solutions to drive business outcomes and the data strategy.

• Work in close collaboration with the Head of Data Governance to ensure that Execution Services complies with the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and Data Operating Model (DOM). Ensuring adherence to the Data Risk Appetite thresholds set for the organisation.

• Establish data remediation plans in line with the CDGP and DOM and create processes and procedures covering data Ownership, Modelling, Sourcing and Data Quality.

• Create, in collaboration with Data Sponsors and Data Owners, key data artefacts including but not limited to Functional Hierarchies, Data Domains, Critical Data Elements, Authoritative Data Sources (ADSs), Data Models and Data Lineage.

• Define Data Quality Requirements for critical business data and implement key data controls including ensuring that data concerns are tracked and resolved.

What we need from you:

Essential

• Leadership experience managing product delivery across multiple work streams with a strong track record of successfully delivering Data Governance and Data Architecture change in a complex environment to achieve business outcomes.

• Track record of implementing new data products, data management capabilities and expanding existing data capabilities.

• Strong understanding of data strategy / data management principles, ideally with knowledge of one or more common Data Management methodologies and capability models (e.g. DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, CDMC).

• Strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work with colleagues across Product, Operations and Technology teams.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and writing) and an ability to communicate advanced concepts in a concise and logical way

• A background demonstrating strong problem solving and analytical critical thinking skills

• Ability to work in a demanding environment. Comfortable with working on projects with tight deadlines

 
Desirable

• Strong technical and programming skills in one or more common languages used for data and decision science implementations (e.g. Python, SQL) and working knowledge of key data analysis and visualisation platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Tableau, PowerBI, etc…) 

• Strong understanding of statistical modelling, artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing technologies, with experience of applying them to real-world problems.

• Working knowledge of key principles underpinning BCBS 239 and their impact on systemically important banks.

• Demonstrable data leadership in Capital Markets, Fintech or Technology industries.

• Advanced degree in Mathematics/Physics/Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
