We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our team and help develop sophisticated forecasting models. This model plays a vital role in efficiently distributing items across our by considering various inputs. Are you a highly skilled data scientist with experience in deep learning and time series forecasting? We're seeking a talented professional with a PhD in Computers Science or ML with 5+ years of industry experience to join our team. If you have a strong background in large scale data preparation and can develop, tune, and benchmark MLP, RNN, and LSTM models, we'd love to hear from you!
 

About Team: OneDemand Science Team
Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers. What you'll do:

The One Demand Team aims to build and deploy a large-scale automated solution for forecasting, placement and safety stock calculation across the Walmart network. We are a part of the Applied AI Organization, a group of impact-driven researchers dedicated to pursuing scientific and scalability excellence to ensure end-to-end optimality in Walmart's supply chain and store-warehouse network. On the One Demand team, we ensure we forecast our customer demand as accurately as possible so they get their orders when and where they want them, in a frictionless, predictable manner. 

What you'll bring:

• Educational Background: PHD or Master's degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related fields.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in forecasting, deep learning for time series developing, tuning and benchmarking large scale time series datasets.
• Strong large scale data preparation skills to generate training datasets samples for framing MLP, RNN, LSTM.
• Experience in train tune and identify MVPs through back testing and benchmarking.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
