The Homes Commercial Team coordinates and leads all aspects of the management and pricing strategy for the UK's largest Mortgage provider. We handle the pricing of over £80 billion of mortgages annually across the brands Halifax, Lloyds, Scottish Widows, and Birmingham Midshires brands.

Our Commercial Execution and Transformation Team delivers high quality data and analytics capabilities to support the commercial performance and strategic objectives of the Homes business.

Join our team as a Data Manager and contribute to evolving data management practices in the Mortgages Commercial Team. Work closely with senior leaders to support their data vision and goals.

Influencing and collaboration is a key element of the team’s work and you’ll work with a wide variety of cross-functional teams across the Bank.

What you'll be doing

  • You’ll be responsible for the production and transformation of high-quality data to allow Homes Commercial Pricing, Performance, and Reporting.
  • Your role will involve implementing data management, controls, and governance and ensuring effective oversight to minimise data risk.
  • You will be a champion for change, finding opportunities to improve our existing data management capabilities or transform our current ways of working with data.
  • Your role will involve collaboration with non-technical colleagues to understand data needs for Homes Commercial Pricing, Performance, and Reporting. Ensuring data architecture aligns with their needs.
  • You will also work collaboratively with Technical Engineers, Product Owners, and Solution Architects to understand data flows and manage the efficient and effective production of high-quality outputs.

What we're looking for

  • You are passionate about data, curious about how it is produced, consumed, and managed across the organisation.
  • You are able to collect and integrate data from various different internal and external sources using coding languages such as VBA, SQL, Python, and SAS.
  • You have experience in the design, build, and maintenance of databases and data warehouses for efficient storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data.
  • You are able to build and maintain pipelines for processing and transforming raw data into formats that are suitable for Pricing, Reporting, and Analytics.
  • You are a self-motivated individual who excels at problem-solving, can adapt to uncertainty, and has the ability to inspire change.
  • You'll be an effective communicator who can influence outcomes and collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand their data needs and objectives.

Ideally,

  • A background in Mortgages and/or Pricing Analysis, Reporting, and Modelling is desirable but not essential.
