Job Title: Director, Data Strategy and BI for Commercial Analytics

Summary of Job:

Director, Data Strategy and BI for Advanced Analytics will be a part of Advanced Analytics Team. This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to lead the implementation of data infrastructure and business intelligence solutions for the commercial analytics team.

The role will be responsible for the acquisition, integration, and governance of all commercial analytics data assets and systems to enable insights generation. This position will also lead the development of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to support home office analytics needs and field-based reporting solutions. This person must be comfortable with operating in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement an end-to-end data strategy covering both internal and external sources and encompassing data management, data governance, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Lead new data acquisition efforts and negotiate with third parties to access data.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Analytics, Enterprise Architect, OCX, IT, Marketing, Sales, and other internal teams to integrate data into a single platform.
  • Develop and implement Data Quality Management (DQM) processes to ensure timely, accurate, and complete data is delivered to relevant stakeholders.
  • Build data marts to enable advanced analytics and support enterprise-wide business intelligence systems for self-service analytics, and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with current data management partners on the code management and documentation of ingestion pipeline processes.
  • Responsible for ready datasets for analytics, reporting and generative AI.
  • Implement and enable data governance processes for management of the data products and information solutions developed by the team.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to claims data analysis and reporting.
  • Implement business intelligence tools (Tableau/PowerBI) to display data for commercial leadership and field teams.
  • Function as business lead responsible for translating business challenges into technical solutions.
  • Provide cross-functional analytical support for field operations, data governance, and commercial analytics.
  • Proactively manage and optimize business vendor relationships, oversee contract negotiations, acquire data, and define formats.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, advancements, and best practices in data management, and healthcare/life sciences.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree in a technical field is preferred
  • 8-12 years of experience in commercial data management roles in a pharma/biotech company.
  • Strong knowledge of pharma data sources, industry regulations, and compliance.
  • Project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple large scale technical projects and deliver on budget and on time.
  • Ability to connect data to the overarching business questions and understand the link between brand strategy and data integration efforts.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to take a creative approach to best meet the needs of both customers and company.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, data visualization, and machine learning.
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions like Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
