Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Engineer
Tasks
- Architect bioinformatics pipelines for next generation sequencing
- Collaborate with research machine learning and platform engineering to transition workflows to production
- Contribute to pipeline documentation onboarding and internal standards
- Develop and maintain workflows in Nextflow and WDL
- Enable machine learning data generation and distributed execution on AWS
- Establish workflow best practices for parameterization versioning provenance reproducibility
- Implement testing strategies including unit integration end to end tests
- Lead code reviews design reviews mentoring for workflow and software engineering best practices
- Lead pipeline design decisions for modular reusable robust scalable maintainable systems
- Refactor and optimize pipelines for performance cost fault tolerance
- Troubleshoot sequencing data processing pipelines across QC alignment methylation calling feature generation
