Kernel Engineer — Scientific Computing (SPU)
Tasks
- Analyzing and optimizing memory access patterns
- Collaborating with hardware architects on algorithm architecture tradeoffs
- Designing microbenchmarks and correctness and numerical accuracy tests
- Ensuring kernels map to the SPU programming model with compiler and runtime support
- Prototyping and implementing core kernels and low level numerical primitives
- Refining kernels based on profiler output and measured performance
- Translating mathematical formulations into executable kernel implementations
