Manager, Data Engineering
Tasks
- Collaborate with data architects on implementation patterns
- Create reference pipelines and guardrails
- Create runbooks and operational readiness for pipelines
- Drive Medallion architecture implementation
- Drive lightweight decision records
- Enforce separation of concerns across Bronze Silver Gold
- Ensure code review standards for data assets
- Establish DataOps practices with CI CD for data assets
- Implement data pipelines using Boomi Databricks Delta Lake and SQL Server
- Implement pipeline monitoring for freshness and quality
- Improve incident response and operational reliability
- Lead day-to-day engineering execution
- Manage data engineering team
- Manage sprint planning task breakdown and delegation
- Mentor and develop engineers with 1 1s and feedback
- Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements
- Reduce ad hoc thrash by shaping requests into scoped deliverables
- Set data engineering practices across ingestion transformation testing deployment and operations
- Translate architecture direction into execution plans and backlogs
- Turn data architecture vision into scalable data pipelines
