Tasks
- Accompany patients to exam or procedure rooms
- Answer calls and provide information
- Assist patients with walking transferring and dressing
- Check expiration dates and dispose supplies per policy
- Check schedules and organize patient flow
- Collect and process specimens
- Complete forms and requisitions
- Enter orders into electronic medical record
- Maintain adjust and confirm patient office schedule
- Maintain exam room setup and instruments sterilization
- Maintain logs for medication refrigeration and point of care testing
- Maintain medical chart filing and documentation
- Manage charts and file completed information
- Obtain lab and x ray reports and hospital notes
- Perform phlebotomy duties
- Perform point of care testing
- Perform pre certification for procedures
- Prepare pre admission and consent forms
- Prepare prescription refill requests
- Relay instructions to patients and families
- Schedule appointments and patient registration
- Schedule surgeries and procedures
- Send and receive medical records
- Take vital signs
- Update patient demographics and insurance information
- Verify insurance information
