Principal Embedded Software Engineer
Tasks
- Analyze complex software issues and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct risk analyses using FMEA and fault tree methods
- Define software requirements and subsystem designs
- Design software subsystem architectures
- Develop debug and test complex systems using modeling and hardware in the loop simulation
- Develop embedded software and firmware using C and C++
- Document system design inputs and outputs
- Ensure compliance with quality regulatory procedures
- Evaluate product performance and optimize designs
- Implement software on embedded real time operating systems
- Maintain lab notebook and design documentation
- Perform hardware and software partition tradeoff decisions
- Translate system requirements into product architectures
- Verify software with code reviews unit tests and static analysis
