Robotics Middleware Engineer – UAV Systems (m/w/d)
Tasks
- Apply ROS 2 and middleware best practices
- Build composable processing pipelines
- Build reliable sensor to perception data flow
- Configure message schemas and QoS profiles
- Create modular sensor IO and fusion framework
- Define stable interfaces and latency budgets
- Design ROS 2 middleware layer
- Develop rosbag2 replay for debugging
- Evaluate middleware options under latency and reliability constraints
- Implement end to end integration tests
- Implement routing and callback prioritization
- Implement time synchronization and timestamps
- Integrate hardware components on Jetson/ARM
- Integrate sensor drivers and message conversions
- Manage TF frames and coordinate transformations
- Manage power and thermals
- Perform bring up for GNSS IMU cameras and LiDAR
- Set up embedded CI CD metrics and alerting
- Tune sensor IO buses CSI USB and Ethernet
