Sr. Scientific Data Engineer, R&D Data Platform

Tasks
- Apply quantitative and scientific judgment for data and analytical requirements
- Apply software engineering practices including version control testing CI and reproducible development
- Build self service workflows for researchers
- Communicate technical decisions and project status to stakeholders
- Create standards for data harmonization and metadata consistency
- Design automated data quality and validation frameworks
- Develop AWS based data and analytics solutions using S3 and managed services
- Develop Python and SQL solutions including pipelines APIs notebooks and packages
- Evaluate AWS services and recommend architectures for scientific workflows
- Improve documentation traceability and data discoverability
- Lead design and delivery of reusable scientific data tools and services
- Mentor engineers through code review pairing and documentation
- Own platform capability areas end to end
- Prototype program specific solutions and generalize to reusable capabilities
- Provide technical leadership across multiple projects
- Support hands on scientific data preparation and analysis when needed
- Use Spark or PySpark for distributed processing
