The Company:

OSL was established in 2012 in Mississauga, Ontario, to provide clients with customized designed sales solutions in retail, direct sales, merchandising and customer acquisition.

About the role: in office 5 days

Reporting to the Manager, Data Governance and Engineering, the Data Analyst responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. Data Analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor production system alerts and provide triage support for priority systems/processes.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases
• Maintain and monitor ETL processes currently running and create the new ones if required.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Filter and clean data by reviewing reports.
• Provide reports and data support to the other departments.
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Document the new processes

Who we’re looking for:

• Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
• Technical knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Strong knowledge of and experience with databases, SQL, PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of programming (python or R) or ETL tools (Alteryx or Knime) is an asset.
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational, written & verbal communication skills
• Confidence and ability to work in a highly visible, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, capable of delivering quality results with high expectations of workload output
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics an asset
