The Denver International Airport (DEN) Operations Analytics & Innovation division is actively seeking a Data Analytics and Innovation College Project Intern to contribute to their dynamic and innovative programming. As part of DEN's Strategic Plan, Vision 100, which envisions reaching 100 million annual passengers, Operations Analytics & Innovation plays a pivotal role in transforming the aviation industry. The Operations Analytics & Innovation division empowers our DEN Operations Division with data-driven insights, analytics, and innovative solutions to optimize operations, enhance decision-making, and drive strategic growth. We foster a culture of creativity, improve operational resilience, and enhance the efficiency of DENs Operation.

As an intern you will get to experience working on projects such as:
- Airport operations and how data analytics, dashboards and metrics can drive business decisions and the future of the DEN airport.
- Dashboards that provide data on our sustainability efforts, the cost of snowstorms, daily maintenance of equipment, and contracts and financials, just to name a few.
- Work with our senior-level data architects to enhance current BI solutions or to create new ones for our customers.
- Learn about industry standards and best practices established by the Business Intelligence team, including development and change management processes.
With the Operations Analytics & Innovation Team, you will experience:
- Learning and application of the theoretical and technical aspects of data analytics
- Gathering requirements from business users on their data and reporting needs and wants
- Collaborating with Business Technologies (BT) to create or update SQL integrations, SSRS reports, and/or tabular models to improve reporting capabilities for the business users
- Creating or updating PowerBI reports and dashboards to visually display the data for the business users
- Supporting researching and working with newer technologies like Azure, Fabric, or Purview
- Performing internal testing and end user validation of delivered reports and dashboards
- Researching, Analyzing, and Deploying a Strategic Analytics and/or Innovation Initiative

- Analytics: Curious and analytical mindset along with the ability to develop and deliver solutions in Power BI or other similar software solutions creating and enabling BI Solutions; Also having experience with SQL databases and queries
- Project Management: Experience with project or program management and a desire to explore the linkage between analytics and innovation
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirement: Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelor’s, or higher degree in, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion)
- Experience: None
- Education and Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted

Location Flexibility
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model with a required min 3 days in office. Employees work where needed to support business, at the Denver International Airport. We do not offer housing or relocation assistance for this position.
Internship Duration and Hours:
This is a 6-month college internship with a completion date of December 5th, 2025, with typical hours not exceeding 39 hours a week and during the summer and 16-30 hours a week during school semesters.

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive pay rate to commensurate with education. The salary range for this position is $20.92 - $23.64 per hour, based on education. Denver International Airport emerging talent positions are required to attend all sessions of professional development within the cohort model. You will be onboarded with a cohort of peers to begin to help you develop your network across the aviation industry.
