Job Title: Sr Revenue Data Analyst
Department & Team: Revenue Assurance
Reports to: Senior Manager, Revenue Assurance
Location: India (Flexible)

The Senior Revenue Data Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring accurate reporting of revenue data as part of the monthly revenue accounting close process. The role will assist the Revenue Team in the validation, completeness, and review of revenue transactions, and assist in supervision. The Senior Revenue Data Analyst will also support the overall system governance and maintenance of revenue systems by collaborating with internal, cross-functional and external vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to);

Revenue data close activities:

  • Part of a large and geographically diverse team that ensures all revenue is accounted for under Genesys policies and accounting guidelines, i.e. ASC 606.
  • Reviewing and processing data to ensure completeness and accuracy of data in the Revenue system (Zuora RevPro) and data warehouse (Snowflake).
  • Determining and processing appropriate contract updates, revenue events and billing information in the Revenue System and the data warehouse.
  • Operating and overseeing revenue data-related internal controls.
  • Manage and support data fix requests initiated by Technical Accounting teams. Ensure correct protocol is followed in applying data fixes in PROD environment.
  • Build data queries to interrogate data within the Revenue Systems & Data Warehouse (Snowflake)
  • Management of Zuora RevPro health check data fixes in line with monthly close timelines
  • Act as the first line of defence for the Revenue Team on Zuora system behaviour queries and escalate issues to the IT/ Zuora teams as and when required
  • Ability to clearly explain Zuora system behaviour to Technical Accountants utilising appropriate Accounting speak
  • Manage IT/Zuora ticket resolution in line with monthly close deadlines
  • Significant Excel analysis and manipulation of data to support the monthly close process.
  • A variety of other processes to ensure the Revenue Accounting team meets its monthly and quarterly objectives.

Other Senior Revenue Data Analyst Tasks:

  • Working closely with Revenue Accountants, Order Management, Collections, Operations and Sales Personnel to meet business objectives.
  • Prepare the analysis necessary to support the month-end close process
  • Support the revenue projects function in the design, test and implementation of updates to existing and new systems (Zuora Revenue, Zuora Billing, Workday, Klarity etc)
  • Build and maintain Tableau Prep automation to support data reconciliations and comparisons
  • Ability to interpret and rationalise Zuora Upgrade Release Notes and Resolved Issues to identify and build testing scenarios
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis, as needed

Other:

  • Support broader team in systems transformation efforts as and when required.
  • Maintain necessary financial and control records along with supporting documentation related to Revenue for audit and Sarbanes-Oxley purposes.
  • Conducting periodic compliance testing across all lines of business (SSP).
  • Participation in ad hoc projects to support business initiatives including assessment of new products, acquisitions and new internal revenue reporting needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in techno-functional roles
  • Techno-functional or similar knowledge of Zuora Revenue and Zuora Billings
  • Experience in building data queries within Zuora systems & Snowflake
  • Experience in building automation utilising Tableau Prep or similar ETL tools to replace manual work
  • Good understanding of Revenue Accounting policies and guidelines under ASC 606
  • Bachelor’s degree in maths, statistics, computer sciences or accounting and finance
  • Super-user (Advanced) in Excel (Pivoting, Lookups etc)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, with great attention to detail
  • Confidence and proven record of communicating both orally and written, including the dissemination of technical information
  • Ability to interact effectively with product teams, functional peer groups and subordinates and to gain cooperation from others, especially those in other departments, as well as with outside auditors and outside legal counsel
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines
  • Problem solver: The candidate should be a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation
