Organizational Overview:

Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth.

Role Summary/Purpose:

The AVP, Analytics - Internal Data Products (individual contributor) is a part of the India Analytics Hub (IAH). The role is responsible for creation and deployment of scalable data products that power analytical and operational workflows across credit, marketing, product and channels.

The candidate will partner cross-functionally with Product, Digital, Analytics and Technology to drive end to end data product development, integration across consumption patterns, and continuous improvement. The candidate will become a data product expert that builds strong relationships with stakeholders, driving discovery and requirements gathering, backlog and feature prioritization, supporting stakeholders through documentation, analytical insights, updates, and product integrations. The model candidate must be a thought leader, hands on problem solver and deliver actionable insights for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a subject matter expert on 1+ data products by gaining in-depth knowledge on its end-to-end development, use cases and its expected value generation to the business.

  • Review feedback from stakeholder meetings and internal discussions, supporting use case and feature discovery needs and asks into action-driven requirements and next steps.

  • Align and requests across use cases and consumption patterns and consolidate into features and stories for backlog prioritization.

  • Work closely with Technical Product Manager and Internal Data Products leader to transition backlog items into roadmap.

  • Leverage SQL and other analytical tools to conduct analyses, data product deep dives and enhancements.

  • Generate actionable insights on data products and its use and impact to business, by using relevant analytical techniques and approaches.

  • Develop and fine tune data story telling focused on driving action through insights and recommendations to continuously improve data product inputs/outputs quality.

  • Maintain product materials and documentation up to date, including, but not limited to: Confluence Page, Product Roadmap, Product documentation, Kanban board, Intake forms, and Triage and Troubleshooting Job Aides.

  • Review data quality reports, inputs and outputs monitoring tools, and synthesize findings and recommendations for Product Stakeholder updates.

  • Support feature integration testing across data products use cases through development and implementation of functional and user acceptance testing plans, working closely with technical teams on Tech & Ops

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Required Skills /Knowledge:

  • Proven hands-on experience of 4+ years utilizing using SQL, SAS, Python or R to perform data analytics.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban; proficient with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA)

  • Ability to engage with technical and non-technical audiences with empathy and ensure needs/asks are effectively translated into technical requirements and followed upon

  • Team player who enjoys close collaboration with analysts, data scientists, data engineers, product and business SMEs spanning several business areas

  • Thought leadership; ability to connect the dots across requirements, technology and process to ensure a holistic solution across partners.

  • High energy, self-motivated, and focused on continuous improvement.

  • Strong project management skills, and comfortable handling concurrent activities/projects with competing priorities

Eligibility Criteria:


Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 4+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of specified degree minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience.

Work Timings:

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
