Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Data Analyst with advanced expertise in Excel, SQL, and Power BI, and substantial experience handling medium to large datasets. As the Legal Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing legal data, identifying patterns, and extracting insightful conclusions to support legal strategies and decision-making processes. You will work closely with various stakeholders, understanding their requirements and ensuring efficient data collection methodologies are in place. Our ideal candidate is a meticulous problem solver, either has experience working in a law firm environment and/or has a robust background in identifying trends within legal data and is committed to providing consistent reports and updates to stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyzes legal data, identifies patterns, and extracts meaningful conclusions to support legal strategies and decision-making
Assists Associates or Shareholders in researching and preparing for cases, using data to create legal strategies
Gathers and reviews court documents, legal papers, and other relevant data sources
Collaborates with stakeholders to identify needs and maintains effective data collection processes
Responds to user inquiries and requests related to legal data analysis
Develops and implements databases and data collection systems to optimize data accuracy and quality
Ensures data privacy and compliance with legal regulations and best practices
Monitors and assesses trends and patterns in legal data, providing regular reports and updates to stakeholders
Designs and builds data models to interpret patterns and trends in court cases and legal information
Tracks changes to legal data and assess the impact on reporting and analysis
Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and integrity by conducting quality checks and collaborating with relevant teams
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results
Performs additional duties as required

Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize multiple tasks
Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential
Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations that impact legal analysis
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered).
Minimum 7 years of data analytics experience, proficiency in data analytics software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI), and writing complex formulas and queries to support your data architecture is required.
Experience working with or in a law firm preferred, ideally as a data analyst, litigation support analyst, or paralegal.
Working knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and documentation processes.
Experience integrating data analytics with Power BI a plus.
Working knowledge of Azure Analysis Services, such as Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Azure AI, and Microsoft Fabric a plus.
