Summary:

Responsible for the overall direction of the Data Analytics and Operations Department. Supports the Payments Team in a comprehensive data management capacity within the growing payments division. Data Analytics and Ops works alongside the Payment Processors Operations and the Payments MFT and Production Support Teams uncovering data quality issues, performing data validation, and acting as SME in data research.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience.

Licenses/Certifications: None required

Experience: Experience with analytical, report and dashboard creation using Kibana and ElasticSearch. Experience developing ETL in Data Processing environments. Experience with database technologies such as mySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Tableau, etc. Experience with relational and non-relational data base platforms. HPCC/ECL knowledge preferred. Experience/Certification in big data technologies. Previous supervisory experience required.


Essential Functions:

A: Job Specific:

  • Manages, trains, and develops the Data Analytics and Ops Team.
  • Leads the delivery of Data Analytics including development, testing and validation.
  • Manages dashboard and reporting creation to uncover data quality concerns.
  • Manages data validation processes; collaborates with Database Developers, Engineers and Coders as necessary for desirable outcomes.
  • Assists the PPO Team with processor raw data file specification validation.
  • Manages implementing and validating new or modified data points within Data Lineage tool.
  • Manages diagnostic analysis for resolving bugs or breakdown in the data assets identified, or flagged by downstream stakeholders.
  • Manages escalations of the department or as requested by other downstream stakeholders.
  • Approves field mappings as proposed by PPO Team.
  • Assists staff in onboarding new processors in Snowflake and provides final sign off.
  • Assists in data related vendor selection process.
  • Identifies as a SME for the Sutton Bank Snowflake and internal data systems and the resources and tools they provide.
  • Maintains file flows within the Sutton preferred data lineage tool.
  • Creates and supports needed changes to processes, procedures and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborates with MFT & Production Support team in essential alerting.
  • Communicates findings to leadership and project Partners as required.
  • Participates in testing and production environments to ensure data requirements are setup, maintained, tested and validated.
  • Establishes and reports on KPIs to measure the data quality tolerances.
  • Develops internal processes to uncover and solve data validation issues.
  • Partners with HR to recruit, assess, initiate corrective action and/or development plans, evaluate performance, and develop staff members.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in verbal and written communications.
  • Strong knowledge of the Payments Industry and/or card processing.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have ability to analyze and solve complex problems, develop automated systems.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts both written and oral.
  • Ability to read, analyze and comprehend general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, audit reports, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, vendors and management staff.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals one-on-one or a small group setting.
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Ability to work with SQL to develop IDE's.
  • Ability to work with database technologies like mySQL, Oracle, SQL Server.
  • Ability to manipulate data for meaningful reporting.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and in team settings, to include close collaboration with Processors.
  • Experience with Large File Management
