Job Description
The Data team is responsible for providing easy-to-use data products & services to enable data-driven decision making, highly engaging consumer experiences and effective commercial products across Nine. Alongside our fantastic content, data is Nine’s other strategic asset and a core value driver for the business.
This role functions at the cross-section of Nine’s Ad Operations - the commercial heart of the organisation, where data plays a critical role across the entire value chain.
As Senior Data Product Manager, Ad Operations, you will be defining the product vision and strategy, setting OKRs, building the product roadmap and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Reporting to the Director, Data Product & Analytics, you will lead a cross-functional squad responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle for our portfolio of Ad Operations data products.
As Senior Data Product Manager, Analytics Platforms, you will:
Define the vision and roadmap for ad operations data products aligned with business objectives & industry best practice
Collaborate with stakeholders (customers) to understand their needs and identify new opportunities to unlock more value from our data
Lead and mentor a team including a Data Product Manager (direct report) and Data Engineers (matrixed org), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with the Data Architect and Data Engineers on technical solutions, estimates and customer experiences
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from conceptualisation to launch & iteration, ensuring product-solution fit and commercial value
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define features, and establish success metrics
Drive the development of scalable and robust data products, that deliver a return on investment
Create and maintain product roadmap using real-world user data, customer feedback, key metrics and other forms of business intelligence to inform prioritisation
Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years experience in product management, ideally in a data and/or ad operations or ad tech field
Experience in a media/advertising/adtech company, and able to demonstrate domain knowledge of advertising operations and technology
People leadership experience, ideally leading cross-functional teams comprising of product and engineering
Experience working successfully within agile product development environments and a solid understanding of agile delivery best practice
Skills:
Ability to establish and deliver an excellent product vision, strategy and roadmap, that is aligned to business and customer needs
Ability to simplify complexity with a well structured & consultative approach to problem solving
Strong knowledge of the ad operations and ad tech ecosystem
Advanced analytical skill-set, highly proficient in SQL
Passion for data-driven decision-making and innovation
Ability to communicate effectively with impact to technical and non-technical colleagues
Understanding of data governance principles, data management best practices, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
A Technology/Computer Science/Data Science/Mathematics/Business qualification, and relevant experience in a corporate or consulting environment
