This role combines business analysis with data engineering, focused on bridging the gap between the US/Canada business unit and Enterprise Data Platform team. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify data requirements, build data solutions, and ensure seamless integration into the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) to meet the reporting and analytics needs of the US/Canada business. This role will encompass responsibilities across business analysis, business relationship management and data analysis.
Essential Functions
- Under general direction, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and requirements.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
- Prioritize development items to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with US/Canada business unit to understand their data and reporting needs.
- Identify and prioritize additional data fields and elements required for more granular reporting and analytics.
- Analyze current data availability and identify gaps in data needed to meet business reporting and analytic requirements.
- Define and document the necessary transformations required to combine business unit data with enterprise-level data in the EDP.
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines to ingest data from various sources into the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
- Assist in the development of scalable processes to ensure efficient data flow and integration for the US/Canada business.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the US/Canada business unit for all data and IT-related matters.
- Foster a strong relationship between the business and Enterprise System, acting as a strategic partner to align technology solutions with business needs.
- Facilitate regular communications between the business and EDP team to ensure ongoing collaboration and transparency.
- Attend daily stand-up calls with the development team to gain status updates and address team queries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Data Science or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data engineering, or business relationship management, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
- Knowledge of business-wide applications (e.g. third party software and internal operational applications, etc.) or IQVIA client facing applications and products.
- Demonstrated ability to understand client requirements as well as underlying infrastructure applications, systems and processes to enable execution of those skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Experience with data pipeline development and ETL processes.
- Strong understanding of business process modeling, requirements gathering, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of IQVIA data and current systems a plus
- Familiarity with Snowflake a plus
